Your privacy

Your account and plans

We store your name, email address, a hashed password, email-verification state and sign-in sessions to operate your account. Sessions can include the IP address and browser or device description used to sign in. Your saved events, followed programmes, application statuses and private notes keep your plans available across devices.

Your agenda and notes are restricted to your account. They are not shared with organizers or published in the event directory. Administrators have access to the information needed to operate, moderate and support the service.

Your optional base location is private to your account. Corrections you send are visible to the review team. Your base, programme follows and correction reports are included in your account export and removed when your account is deleted.

Updates for saved events

If you turn on updates, we keep an account inbox of reviewed changes to your saved events, together with your preference and read status. These updates appear on the website and in the app. A separate opt-in lets followed programmes notify you about newly reviewed sessions. Turning either preference off clears that type of alert; turning it on again starts with future changes. Removing a saved event or programme follow also removes its associated updates. This version does not send these updates by email or push notification.

Organizer and event information

Reviewed organization and event details are public. Submissions, membership records, source observations and review decisions support verification and corrections. Raw imports and review records are restricted to authorized reviewers. Saving an event does not register you with its organizer.

Email and service records

We use your email address for account verification and password recovery. Delivery information is kept long enough to retry failed messages and investigate delivery problems. Account messages are separate from marketing; this version does not send marketing campaigns.

Request logs help identify failures and abuse. The application avoids logging passwords, private notes, session credentials and account-link tokens.

Cookies and your devices

The website uses authentication cookies needed to keep you signed in. The native app stores session credentials securely and keeps an encrypted copy of your agenda for offline reading. That copy is removed when you sign out or when the app confirms that your session is no longer valid. A device that stays offline cannot receive a remote revocation immediately.

This version does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

Maps and external services

The Davos map and walking calculations use data hosted by Davos Society. If you choose Use my location, your device asks for permission. The position and accuracy stay in memory and are sent to our routing server only when you request a walk from that position. We do not store these coordinates or track you in the background. Clear location removes the displayed position. Opening a registration, source or external map link shares the request and chosen destination or route origin with that service. Its own privacy policy then applies. Davos Society does not connect to your inbox or submit registrations on your behalf.

The Davos forecast is downloaded from MeteoSwiss by our server. Reading it does not send your device location to MeteoSwiss.

Access, correction and deletion

In Your account, you can download your account information, change your password, end sessions and request account deletion. Sensitive actions require your current password. You can edit private notes and saved-event statuses in My agenda.

Deleting an account removes its credentials, sessions and private agenda. Public organization and event records remain so that other visitors and organizers can still use them. Review records are detached from the deleted account. If you are an organization’s last owner, ownership must be resolved before deletion.
