One town, many different invitations
Know which programme you are attending and what grants entry.
Davos tourism lists the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting for 18–22 January 2027. The official Annual Meeting is invitation-only. Independent conferences, houses and gatherings each set their own admission rules; being in Davos does not provide access to them.
WEF’s Open Forum is a separate public series. Its general guidance describes free admission with registration and limited capacity. Check the published 2027 programme and registration before making plans; a past edition’s venue or ticket does not confirm this year’s arrangements.
Saving an event in Davos Society helps plan your week. It does not register you, reserve a place or provide accreditation. Open the organizer’s registration page and keep their confirmation handy. Allow time between sessions for the walk and entry checks.
Arrive with a simple route
Plan the train connection and the right Davos station.
The usual rail approach is an SBB connection to Landquart, then a RhB train towards Davos. Check the complete journey in the current SBB planner, including airport connections and your arrival time.
Davos Dorf and Davos Platz are different stations. Use your accommodation’s exact address to choose the most convenient arrival, and plan the final bus or walk before travelling. Keep your address and arrival instructions available offline.
If driving, check Graubünden’s current road conditions and your accommodation’s parking arrangements. Heavy snowfall can mean additional winter restrictions or snow-chain requirements on the approach. Do not rely on a summer driving estimate.
Leave room for the journey
Combine walking and local transport, with the right ticket.
The Promenade connects many Davos destinations, but the venue entrance may be on another street or inside a hotel. Our map points describe verified addresses; snow, slopes, temporary controls and the final approach can add time.
Ask your accommodation about the Davos Klosters guest card. Eligible stays include local transport benefits, but the permitted services and zones depend on the card and accommodation. It is not a Switzerland-wide travel pass.
Check the return journey as well as the outward trip, especially after evening events. Local night services can have separate fares and conditions. Use current transport information rather than assuming every service accepts the guest card.
Dress for the walk between rooms
Winter footwear matters as much as your meeting clothes.
Bring warm layers and footwear suited to cold, wet or slippery surfaces. Allow a little extra time outdoors. A comfortable daytime route can feel different after dark or fresh snow.
For a break outside, start with the official prepared winter-walking routes and check the current trail report. Mountain outings need their own plan, operating-status check and suitable conditions; they are different from a town transfer.
Respect wildlife protection areas, stay on marked routes in the forest and keep dogs on a leash. The local winter guide explains how to enjoy the landscape with less disturbance.
Make space for a proper meal
Check WEF service separately from a restaurant’s usual hours.
Use the dining directory to find restaurants near your venues, then check the restaurant’s own menu and reservation arrangements. Regular hours can differ from WEF-week service. Unless a dated confirmation is shown, January 2027 availability remains unknown.
Prices are in Swiss francs (CHF). A published menu price is a useful reference, not a promise about a January menu. Ask the restaurant about dietary requirements; a vegetarian or vegan option does not establish allergen safety.
Tipping is optional in Switzerland. Rounding up is customary when you would like to recognise good service. Check your payment method with the business if it matters to your visit.
Keep the essentials with you
Power, local time and a plan for a lost connection.
Switzerland uses 230V/50Hz electricity and Type J sockets; compatible two-pin Type C plugs also fit. Check your charger and bring a suitable adapter if needed.
Davos follows Europe/Zurich time: Central European Time in January. Check the time zone on imported invitations, particularly when travelling from another country.

For an emergency, call 112. Swiss direct emergency numbers include 144 for an ambulance, 117 for police and 118 for the fire service. Give your exact location and follow the operator’s instructions.
For everyday local information, use Davos Klosters tourism or ask your accommodation. For pharmacy opening times and other essential services, check the provider’s current information; this guide does not maintain an out-of-hours rota.
Keep travel-insurance details and any information you need for your own care available offline. If you lose something on public transport, use the operator’s lost-property service.
